RENTON:  Joe’s Sports & Outdoor, the Northwest’s largest sporting goods retailer, opened their newest store in Renton, Washington, on Thursday, August 28, 2008. The store is located at 915 N. Landing Way, close to Fry’s and Target.

The public was invited to join Joe’s Sports & Outdoor employees and managers, along with Renton mayor Dennis Law, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 6:50 a.m. The Joe's Sports & Outdoor Foundation also awarded $2,000 grants to each of the Renton high school athletic programs: Hazen High School, Renton High School and Lindbergh High School.

“We’re excited to bring our unique combination of brand name merchandise, low prices, selection and excellent service to customers in Renton,” said Hal Smith, Joe’s Sports & Outdoor president and CEO. “This new store showcases our various departments and elite service shops. Sports and outdoor enthusiasts of all abilities will be able to find what they need quickly and easily, at great savings they’re sure to appreciate.”
Lori Bennett, manager of the Renton store, said, “I’m glad we’re opening just in time for back-to-school, or ‘back-to-sports’ as we like to call it. This store has everything for football, basketball, soccer and more. And at our service shops you can have your bike tuned up or repaired, rent skis and snowboards, or have a vehicle roof rack installed by skilled technicians. It’s a great new resource for active people in the community.”
