Youth Sports

Youth Athletics is dedicated to:

  1. Providing enjoyable recreation programs for children, regardless of athletic ability
  2. Encouraging children to have fun, learn new skills, and feel good about participating in youth sports
  3. Developing self-esteem and good sportsmanship through meaningful and fair sports competition
  4. Providing quality coaches, facilities, and clearly defined standards

Youth Cross Country Grades k-5

Join us outdoors this fall at the Highlands Neighborhood Center for a fund Cross Country program.  Participants will be introduced to the joy of running and they will learn the proper techniques of warming up, running and cooling down.  Participants run at their own pace and choose what event they would like to run at our optional cross country meets. Distances run are 400, 800 and 1600 meters.   Practices run on Tuesday and Thursday beginning September 19-October 26 from 5:00-6:00pm.  Register for course  #60160 Fee $50R/$60NR.

Friday Night Lights-Flag Football Grades 2-3 and 4-5 September 22-October 27

Join us at Liberty Park for 6 weeks of football fun.  Each week participants will be introduced to a new skill followed by scrimmage play. Participants of all abilities are encouraged to register so grab a friend and sign up today.

Volleyball Clinics- Saturdays September 30-November 4

Bump, Set, Spike!  Each week instructors will introduce players to the fundamentals of volleyball in a non competitive environment.  If you are looking to learn how to play volleyball or just sharpen your skills come join us.  This program is held at the Renton Community Center. Fee $42R/$50NR

Indoor Tennis-Youth Group Lessons and Private Adult & Youth

The City of Renton offers a variety programs year round! As fall approaches, join us inside at the Highlands Neighborhood on Sunday mornings.  If the weather is decent, participants may go outside, so dress for weather.  Grab your racquet and joins us today! UK Petite Soccer Clinics- Ages 3 to 9-Fall Classes
UK Petite soccer provides a basic introduction to soccer.  UK Petite uses a games based approach to teach children the FUNdamentals of soccer in a high energy, interactive learning environment. Each program runs for one hour, for six weeks.  Each participant will receive a UK Petite T-shirt and a certificate. We have also added UK Elite Feet for ages 5-9 for those who are looking for additional training after UK Petite. For a complete list of programs offered this spring, more information and to register, visit Fee $90.00 per session.
