The Renton History Museum relies on volunteers to fulfill its mission to preserve, document, interpret, and educate the general public about the history of the greater Renton area. The museum welcomes volunteers who want to contribute their skills and talents by leading tours, greeting Saturday visitors, or helping with special projects.
You can find details in our Volunteer brochure.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Renton History Museum, please submit a completed volunteer application to the Public Engagement Coordinator by email or by phone at 425.255.2330.
RenTeens meet monthly to learn about what’s going on at the Museum and provide
insight into how Museum staff and volunteers can better connect with the Renton
area’s young people. It will be a great chance to get involved in the community,
be creative, and earn community service hours. RenTeens will also be in
charge of planning and creating their own project at the Museum. Interested teens contact the Public Engagement Coordinator Kim Owens by email.
Join Our Board
The Renton Historical Society is currently accepting applications for new trustees for the Board of the Renton History Museum. The Board is the oversight, policy-making, and fundraising body for the museum. It meets on the last Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., with other committee meetings as needed. Trustees serve three-year terms.
New trustees have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the Museum Master Plan. The Board is focused on building museum membership, reaching out to diverse communities, and preparing for a capital campaign. We are looking for enthusiastic people, interested in advancing our mission of documenting, preserving, and education about Renton's rich heritage. Fundraising, event planning, and/or marketing skills are particularly desirable.
For more information or an application, please contact Museum Director Elizabeth P. Stewart by email or by phone at 425.255.2330.
