RENTON, WA — Renton Police Officers will be “on the lookout” for children wearing helmets while biking, skateboarding, scootering and skating. The parents of kids “caught” wearing their helmets will be issued a “Safe Rider Citation,” which can be redeemed at participating McDonald’s restaurants for a free reduced-fat vanilla ice cream cone. The “citations” are a wonderful opportunity for uniformed officers to positively reinforce helmet use. Participating Renton McDonald’s include the McDonald’s restaurant at 4411 NE Sunset Boulevard.

The Renton Police Department thanks McDonald’s restaurants and Safe Kids of King County for their partnership to promote safe riding!
