JohnGeisslerPhotographyThe Renton Municipal Arts Commission proudly presents fine art photography by John Geissler. The exhibit will be on display January 10 through February 18, 2011. Members of the public are welcome to attend the artist reception on Saturday, January 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to view the art and meet the artist.

John Geissler is a Seattle based fine art photographer who incorporates the use of alternative processes as well as traditional methods to produce his photographic work. John has attended classes at the University of Washington as well as the Photographic Center Northwest.

John was drawn to photography at a very early age. He realized the first time he saw photographs as an art medium that he wanted to be a photographer. “The feel of a camera, the look of a beautiful photograph entranced me,” he states. After a hiatus from photography in the 1980s, he realized that photography provided a means of creative expression for him and began to explore new technology and processes. He works in black and white, color slide and digital formats. He recently began using platinum, palladium and gum bichromate processes to allow more freedom in his artistic expression.
