Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance

Employees are offered a choice of medical, dental and vision coverage through either the City's self-insured plan or Kaiser Permanente (formerly Group Health).  The City pays the majority of the premium for Medical/Vision and Dental coverage for all regular employees and their eligible dependents.

Flexible Spending Account

The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows employees to set aside funds on a pre-tax basis for reimbursement of healthcare or dependent care expenses. Please read the following brochure for more details: BAC Flexible Spending Account brochure

Employee Wellness Program

The City of Renton Employee Wellness (CREW) has the following resources available to establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle:

  • Exercise at no cost at various City facilities 
  • Receive a 50% discount on wellness classes at the Renton Community Center
  • Annual Wellness Fair includes free flu shots and an assortment of screenings for regular employees
  • Monthly lunch and learn opportunities on a variety of health topics

Employee Assistance Program

A confidential counseling assessment and referral service is available without cost to regular benefited employees and family members for help with personal, family or job related problems.  Your EAP is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
