Business Resources Expanding for Local Communities

The King County Library System (KCLS) has been recently sited as a new, up-and-coming resource for economic growth and stewardship in Washington State. According to an article released by Lisa Rosenblum, the Director of KCLS, “KCLS has always played an important role in helping individuals develop job skills. We are excited about expanding that role by offering programs and services that promote entrepreneurship and help build equitable and resilient local economies.”

KCLS has notably partnered with locally affiliated groups, such as Startup 425 and SCORE (Service Core of Retired Executives) to provide guidance for businesses within the area.

Startup 425 has been referenced for their series of free workshops dedicated to sharing knowledge between established economic leaders and entrepreneurs wishing to learn more about starting a business.  Renton Highlands Library is one of the five Eastside libraries where these classes are held. The workshops run from March through June 2019 and cover a wide range of topics.
