RENTON, WA – As the holiday season approaches, the City of Renton has a number of community events to entertain and help with your holiday shopping. More information on these events can be found by clicking the associated link or by visiting the city calendar or events page.

Hassle-Free Holiday Bazaar

Friday, November 16, 2018, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, November 17, 2018, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Renton Community Center, 1715 Maple Valley Hwy

Renton City Concert Band

November 18, 2 p.m.
Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center, 400 S. 2nd St.

The 65-member Renton City Concert Band, under the direction of Mike Simpson, presents Borrowed, Stolen, Flipped featuring soloist John Bolender. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors (50 and over) and students. They can be purchased at the door or at the Renton Community Center prior to the concert. rentonwa.gov/rccb

Downtown Holiday Tree Lighting and Small Business Saturday

Saturday, November 24, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tree Lighting and arrival of Santa, 5 p.m.
Renton Pavilion Event Center and Piazza Park, 233 Burnett Ave.

A full day of events in conjunction with Small Business Saturday to support small, locally owned businesses and usher in the holiday season. There will be activities for all ages, including live music, holiday treats, kids’ activities, Pop-Up Market and festive shopping. The annual stunning display of trees and shrubs professionally decorated with thousands of holiday lights is not to be missed. Decorations span the mile-long pathway paralleling the shoreline of Lake Washington and the piers. Two restaurants, Ivar’s and Kidd Valley, will be open. Opening night on November 30 will include live entertainment and holiday-themed photo opportunities with the lights turned on at 7 p.m. They will be on daily from 5 to 9 p.m. from December 1 through January 1, 2019. K9 Candy Cane Fun Run and Walk

Enjoy a morning run or walk along the picturesque Cedar River with or without your dog. The event is open to recreational and competitive runners, walkers and families. All participants are asked to bring a donation of dog food to benefit Seattle Humane Society for Seattle/King County. Cost is $33 and registration is required.
