RENTON, WA – Armondo Pavone was sworn in as the City of Renton’s 31st mayor at Monday night’s City Council meeting. Mayor Pavone was sworn in by retired King County Prosecutor and Judge Charles Delaurenti. 

 “I’m very humbled by and proud of the trust and confidence the residents of Renton have shown in me,” said Mayor Pavone. “I look forward to working with the city council, business owners and residents on a shared goal of making Renton a healthy, welcoming community where people want to live.”

Mayor Pavone was first elected as a city councilmember in November 2013 and re-elected in 2017, before winning election as mayor in November 2019.

Also sworn in at the meeting were councilmembers Valerie O'Halloran (by husband Michael O'Halloran), Ryan McIrvin (by wife Stephanie McIrvin), Ed Prince (by Washington Superior Court Judge LeRoy McCullough), and Kim-Khánh Vǎn (by former State Representative Velma Veloria).

Councilmembers O’Halloran and Vǎn won election to their first terms in office last November. Councilmember Prince was re-elected to a third term and Councilmember McIrvin to a second term.

They join Ruth Pérez and Randy Corman on the City Council. Councilmember Pérez will serve as council president in 2020 while Councilmember Corman will serve as president pro tem.
