The city’s Parks Planning, and Natural Resources Division is developing a master plan for a new neighborhood park in Renton’s East Plateau area. Tucked near May Creek Greenway and Duvall Avenue NE and spanning approximately 18.5 acres, this new park will address a critical need in this part of the city.

The Northeast Renton Park Master Plan will create a vision and define the roadmap for developing a new neighborhood park that best serves the community. This new park location offers a unique blend of landscapes—forests, wetlands and streams, steep slopes, and previously developed parcels—which provide diverse opportunities for active and passive recreational activities, such as:

  • Play areas and sport courts
  • Trails and trailheads
  • Gathering spaces
  • Access to nature

A new park in this location aligns with a general recommendation of the city’s broader Parks, Recreation, and Natural Areas Plan, which includes an established goal of having a public park within a ten-minute walk (half-mile walking distance) of every Renton resident.

While the new park will target the needs of the East Plateau community, we know it will serve a much larger area. We invite all Renton residents to share ideas, learn more about the project, and get involved. Stay connected through the project's webpage with upcoming engagement opportunities.
