Domestic violence is not just physical violence. It is a pattern of controlling, abusive behavior - emotional, sexual, or physical - but a pattern that can be prevented and stopped. It can happen to anyone.

The Renton Police Department has a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate to provide assistance to victims who live within Renton's city limits.

If there is immediate danger, call 9-1-1.

The advocate can provide the victim(s) with:

  • Safety planning and problem solving
  • Domestic violence prevention and education
  • Protection orders
  • Emergency short-term hotel shelter
  • Food and clothing
  • Transportation
  • Interpreter services

The Domestic Violence Victim Advocate is available Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the second floor of City Hall.

Silent Witness Project

As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Renton City Hall lobby displays silhouettes and stories of individuals who were victims of domestic violence.

The Silent Witness program is shocking reminder that these victims are our daughters, sons, moms, dads, relatives, and close friends. If you find yourself in an abusive relationship, get help immediately by calling 9-1-1.

The city has a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate available Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. at 425-430-6654. rentonwa.gov/dv.
