Please Note

  • Limit one trip per household per event.
  • No vehicle may join the line after 3 p.m.
  • No business waste accepted.
  • We reserve the right to refuse oversized loads or unacceptable materials.
  • Vehicles can only enter the line going southbound on Monroe Avenue NE.

These events are funded by the King County Waste Reduction/Recycling Program and the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County.

Acceptable Materials

Recyclables are unloaded in the following order: 

  1. Plastics
    • Clean #2 and #4 plastic bags (remove receipts and food debris)
    • Bubble wrap and Styrofoam peanuts/popcorn
    • Clean white block Styrofoam (#6)
    • NO bottles or hard or molded packaging or products (toys, swimming pools detergent buckets, flower pots, etc).
  2. Reusable Household Goods and Unusable Textiles
    • Small furniture
    • Small appliances and household items in good condition and reusable "as is"
    • Clothing
    • Unusable textiles: stained, torn or otherwise unusable clothing, sheets, towels and other fabric items (separate from reusable items)
    • NO console TVs, cushions, baby furniture, broken furniture, hide-a-beds or water beds, sofas, or wet or moldy material
  3. Batteries and Cell Phones
    • Cell phones 
    • Household alkaline batteries (AAAA, AAA, AA, A, B, C, D)
    • Rechargeable batteries ("NiCd" or "Nickel Cadmium" -- typically in cell phones, cordless power tools, and laptops)
    • Lead-acid batteries (car, truck, marine and motorcycle batteries)
  4. Uncontaminated Antifreeze
    • Store in sealed, lidded, reusable container
    • Do not mix with any other substances
  5. Uncontaminated Motor Oil
    • Store in sealed, lidded, reusable container
    • Do not mix with other substances
  6. Used Oil Filters (all automobile filters accepted)
  7. Tires: Car, Pickup Truck, or Motorcycle
    • Bias ply, steel belted and studded tires only
    • Remove tires from rims
    • Limit 10 tires per load. Call 425-430-7396 for approval of larger loads.
    • NO semi-truck or tractor tires
  8. Mattresses and Box Springs ($18 each, cash only)
    • Mattresses must be dry
    • NO excessive stains, bedbugs, or blood stains
  9. Cardboard and Books
    • Flatten all cardboard
    • Paperback and hardcover books accepted
  10. Scrap Metal and Large Appliances
    • Items include auto parts, bikes, copper, dryers, iron, lawn chairs, steel washers, water heaters
    • Remove all wheels, nonmetal parts, oils, and fluids
    • NO car chassis, freezers, fridges, or home air conditioners
  11. Bulky Yard Waste and Clean Wood
    • Large branches (min. 4" diameter and 4' in length), stumps, shrubs, unpainted and untreated wood, plywood, OSB and particle board
    • NO grass clippings, leaves, small branches, pressure treated wood, or railroad ties
  12. Broken Concrete (Without Rebar), Bricks and Porcelain
    • Sinks, tubs and toilets (all parts removed)

Unacceptable Materials

  • Air conditioners 
  • Carpet 
  • Computers 
  • Drywall
  • Freezers
  • Fridges
  • Furniture (select):
    • baby furniture 
    • broken or wet furniture
    • cushions
    • hide-a-beds or water beds
    • sofas
  • Hazardous waste* (select):
    • Cleaning products
    • Fluorescent lights
    • Paint: oil-based and latex
    • Propane tanks
    • Solvents and thinners
  • Garbage
  • Glass:
    • mirrors 
    • plates
    • windows
  • Plastics (select):
    • #1 and #2 (bottles)
    • hard or molded packaging or products (toys, buckets, flower pots, etc.)
  • Tires from semi-trucks or tractors
  • Treated wood
  • TVs
  • Yard debris (select):
    • Grass clippings
    • Leaves
    • Small branches (less than 4" diameter and under 4')
    • Sod
