Renton Municipal Airport to host Emergency Response Drill

FAA-encouraged drill will test emergency response systems

WHAT: A multi-agency, full-scale disaster response training drill at Renton Municipal Airport involving multiple agencies at the local and federal levels.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) encourages airports to test emergency response systems in coordination with local emergency service providers every three years to improve mutual aid efforts between airport emergency workers and local organizations.

During the drill, the airport’s runway and taxiways will be closed, but can be re-opened if an emergency arises. Additionally, Taxiway A3 is currently closed and will remain closed until after the completion of the exercise on Thursday, April 4.

WHO: Renton Municipal Airport in conjunction with the City of Renton, Renton Police Department, Renton Regional Fire Authority, Valley Communications (9-1-1 services), and other local and federal agencies.

WHERE: Renton Municipal Airport, 616 West Perimeter Road, Renton, WA 98057

WHEN: Tuesday to Thursday, April 2 to April 4, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
