Renton City Council Convenes Monday for Initial 2023 Meeting

January 9 Meeting Begins at 7 p.m.; All Seven Councilmembers Set to Return

RENTON, WA (JANUARY 4, 2023) – Renton City Council will convene in person for the first council meeting of 2023 on Monday, January 9, at 7 p.m. The meeting can also be viewed on Channel 21 in Renton or streamed live at rentonwa.gov/communitytv.

All seven council members returned as no council positions were up for election in 2022.

Councilmember Valerie O'Halloran will serve as Council President for 2023, and Councilmember Ed Prince will serve as Council President Pro-Tem. Ms. O'Halloran begins her fourth year on the council, while Mr. Prince enters his 12th year.

Ruth Pérez begins her 10th year on the council; Ryan McIrvin his eighth; Kim-Khánh Văn her fourth; and Carmen Rivera and James Alberson, Jr., their second.

Council has also set committee assignments and schedules for the year. All meetings are subject to change; the most current information can be found at rentonwa.gov/council.
