City of Renton Seeks Candidates for Senior Citizens Advisory Board

RENTON, WA – The City of Renton is seeking candidates to serve on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board. The board acts in an advisory capacity to community services staff, mayor, and city council on matters of particular interest to senior citizens in the Renton community.

Senior citizens 50 years and older who represent the diverse nature of the city, including ethnicity, geography and gender are encouraged to apply. New board members are elected by the current advisory board’s nominating committee and serve a three-year term.

Members serve without compensation and must be able to attend a meeting on the first Monday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at the Renton Senior Activity Center, 211 Burnett Avenue North.

To apply, download an application from the city’s website, or call 425-430-6632 to have one mailed. Applications are also available at the Renton Senior Activity Center.

Completed applications should be returned to Debbie Little at the Senior Activity Center or mailed to the City of Renton, Mayor’s Office, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on February 15, 2019.
