Philip Arnold Park is a triangular- shaped 10-acre, neighborhood park nestled between Jones Avenue South and Beacon Way SE, atop historic Renton Hill.

It offers spectacular views of Seattle, the Kent valley, Lake Washington and the Olympic Mountain Range.

 'Healthy WA - Roadmap to Recovery' Phase 1:  In both parks and on trails, YOU ARE REQUIRED to follow recommended COVID-19 protocols for social distancingGATHERINGS of 10 people or less, limit 2 households, face coverings and proper hand washing.

PICNIC SHELTERS are not currently available to rent due to COVID-19. 

Construction Project

Park Improvements 2021

Philip Arnold Park was identified in the Parks, Recreation and Natural Areas Plan as well as the 2019 $14.5 million Parks Bond as a high priority project for Major Site Improvements. Built in the 1960’s, the park is over 50 years old, and showing signs of its age as well as changing recreational needs.

Major Site Improvements will include:

  • Looped ADA accessible walkways
  • Playground replacement
  • Removal of activity building replaced with parent plaza, shelter and Portland Loo restroom
  • Basketball court renovation and terraced seating
  • Parking lot pavement repairs
  • Park signage
  • Upgraded utility services and improved site drainage/stormwater management

Design work will begin in February 2020 with construction anticipated to begin in 2021 and be completed in the late fall of that year.
