The City of Renton’s Utility Box Wrap Program turns everyday utility boxes into colorful mini murals that brighten our streets and celebrate local creativity. By partnering with local artists, the program adds vibrancy to neighborhoods, helps reduce graffiti, and supports Renton’s creative economy.
The Utility Box Wrap Program transforms traffic signal and utility boxes with artist-designed vinyl wraps installed throughout the city. Built to withstand weather and wear, these wraps help keep Renton’s streetscapes vibrant for years to come.
The program supports the City’s goals of expanding public art, creating opportunities for local creatives, and making public spaces more welcoming, engaging, and uniquely Renton.
Wrapped utility boxes can be found throughout Renton, including Downtown, the Highlands, Benson Hill, and beyond. Each design reflects the creativity, culture, and diverse artistic voices that make our community unique.
Keep an eye out for future Calls for Art for upcoming utility box projects, or subscribe to the Renton Arts Commission e-newsletter for the latest opportunities, public art updates, and community arts events.
