Transportation planning and programming develops plans and preliminary designs for transportation system improvements and programs. Staff also coordinate with state and regional agencies (including transportation departments and transit agencies) on transportation issues.
This group coordinates the development of the Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program and secures funding for projects and programs. Transportation planning staff review project applications and proposed annexation areas for transportation needs. This group is also responsible for amending the Renton Comprehensive Plan's Transportation Element(PDF, 1MB).
