Find a Lost Pet

Animal control officer with dog

There is nothing more important to us than reuniting lost pets with their families. If you have lost a companion or found a neighbor’s pet within Renton city limits, here is the fastest way to start the journey home.

Check Our "Digital Kennel"

We post photos and descriptions of animals currently in our care on social media. It is the most up-to-the-minute resource for local sightings.

File an Official Report

Whether you have lost a pet or found one, filling out our official form is the best way to alert our officers. Our system works 24/7 to match "lost" reports with "found" animals.

How We Reconnect Families

  • Immediate Outreach: If an animal arrives with an ID tag or a microchip, our officers will attempt to contact the owner immediately.
  • The "Safety Hold": For pets found without identification, we provide a safe, warm environment for a minimum three-day holding period. This gives families time to locate their pets.
  • A Second Chance: If an owner isn't located during the holding period, we evaluate the animal’s health and temperament to prepare them for adoption into a new, loving home.

Don't Wait, Act Quickly!

If your pet is missing, check our Facebook page daily and ensure your "Lost Report" is on file. We are here to support you and your pets every step of the way.
