The City of Renton is working on the biennial budget for 2027 and 2028. As part of this process, we are conducting a community-wide budget survey, open now.

The city’s research partner, ReconMR, started outreach with a random selection of residents. You may receive text messages, emails, a phone call, or mailed postcard with information encouraging you to participate in the online survey.

Conducting a large survey like this means we utilize a carefully designed methodology to ensure accurate, representative feedback from across our community.  The survey is available in English, Spanish, Chinese (simplified), Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Russian.

If you did not receive the survey from ReconMR, it will open to the public on April 22 and close May 13.

What is the budget process?

The city budget is updated every two years to meet the changing needs of our growing community and find solutions that make a real difference in your daily life. Your input plays a vital role in shaping these decisions. The process begins by listening to you, alongside priorities from the mayor, council, and city leaders. Together, this collaboration shapes the final budget, which is reviewed and approved by the Renton City Council.

Why is my input important?

Our city budget serves as the roadmap for how your tax dollars are invested in essential services to enhance the quality of life for all Renton residents. The budget sets priorities that affect daily experiences like public safety, transportation, parks, and roads. By participating, you help guide Renton’s shared vision for the future.
