Starting this Saturday, August 22, the City of Renton and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will begin urgent repairs along the Cedar River Left Bank Levee, just north and south of the Boeing Bridge located downstream of the Logan Avenue bridge on the Renton Municipal Airport.

Work will take place on the weekends of August 22-23 and August 29-30 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to restore damage from the December 2025 flood and help ensure the levee is ready for the upcoming flood season.

There will be no public street closures, but pedestrians and bicyclists crossing at the intersection of Shattuck Avenue South and Airport Way should be cautious of truck traffic that will be entering and leaving the airport property to access East Perimeter Road. East Perimeter Road will be reduced to one lane during construction.

Crews will place riprap (medium to large rocks) to reinforce the slope and protect the flood wall.

Awalix is the contractor selected by the USACE for this repair project. Construction will be visible from the Cedar River Trail between Renton Memorial Stadium and North Sixth Street.
