The Clean Sweep program is available to City of Renton single-family residential customers. Each household may schedule ONE collection of extra garbage between March 1 and December 31, 2026. Republic Services will collect up to two bulky items and 10 bags of garbage at no additional charge.

In 2027, the City of Renton will change solid waste providers from Republic Services to Recology. The Clean Sweep program will continue with Recology. For more information about these changes next year, visit rentonwa.gov/recologynews.

Clean Sweep accepts TWO bulky items and ten bags. Each bag can be no more than 32 gallons in volume, no more than 65 pounds, and have no side longer than 3 feet. The bulky items can be mattresses, sofas, chairs, or other bulky items. Not accepted items include appliances, electronics, recyclables, yard waste, liquid items, hazardous items, construction materials, and certain more.
