Planning a road trip, camping adventure, or flight this summer? Make sure you’re ready with essential safety, logistics, and health information to set you up for a secure and enjoyable trip. We’ll cover pre-departure planning, summer-specific tips, personal security, and how to stay safe while on the go.

Renton Business Information Session: Renton Ready to Play!
Thursday, June 4 | 3 – 4 p.m.
Renton Library (100 Mill Ave S.)
Join us for the final Renton Ready to Play Business Information Session before the kickoff of an exciting summer in Downtown Renton.
This informal drop-in is an opportunity for businesses to ask final questions and receive additional clarification before the kickoff of summer activities and related programming in Downtown Renton.
Over the past several months, businesses have received updates on Legacy Square activations, business participation opportunities, event permitting, promotional tools and resources, Renton Market/Piazza updates, safety planning, and road closures.
Whether you attended previous sessions or are just joining the conversation, this is a great opportunity to stop by, gather information, and prepare for the excitement ahead.
All Renton businesses are welcome.

Family Fun Night

Family Fun Nights at Highlands Neighborhood Center welcomes participants of all ages to enjoy a variety of activities: games, arts & crafts, snacks, and more!
Only one member of your family needs to register for the event. Please indicate your family/party size during registration. Adult supervision required.

Recycling Event: Mattresses, Tires, Plastic Bags, Cardboard & Styrofoam
Saturday, June 6 | 10 – 2 p.m.
Renton Technical College Parking Lot 3 (NE 6th Place & Monroe Ave NE)
Each year, the City of Renton holds recycling collection events open to all residents.
Items accepted at the June 6 event include:
- Mattresses and box springs (no excessive stains, bed bugs, or blood stains)
- Flattened cardboard
- Tires (cars, pickup trucks, motorcycles)
- Plastic bags and bubble wrap
- Clean Styrofoam
- Donation opportunity: Furniture (apply here by June 3)
An additional recycling event will take place on September 12.

Celebrate Renton’s Hat Trick

Join us Saturday, June 6, from 1 to 8 p.m. for the official grand opening of Legacy Square, Renton Market, and Piazza Park!
The ongoing transformation of the former Pavilion Event Center into a year-round indoor market will be a game-changer for local entrepreneurs. We will be handing over the keys to our tenant having completed our building improvements, allowing for the next phase to begin. The tenants planned improvements over the coming months will ready the space for future vendors and activities.

2026 Pride Flag Raising
Monday, June 8 | 9 a.m.
Renton City Hall (1055 S. Grady Way)
Join us Monday, June 8, at 9 a.m. in the Renton City Hall upper parking lot for the Pride Flag Raising Ceremony. There will be brief remarks from Mayor Armondo Pavone and a speech from Renton's LGBTQIA+ community. Light refreshments will be provided.
Join us later at 7 p.m. at Renton City Hall for the City Council reading of the Pride Month Proclamation.
