Renton Market and Piazza update: April 20, 2026
The ongoing transformation of the former Pavilion Event Center into a year-round indoor market will be a game-changer for local entrepreneurs. By June 6, 2026, the city will be handing over the keys to our tenant, having completed our building improvements, allowing for the next phase to begin. The tenant’s planned improvements over the coming months will ready the space for future vendors and activities.

Renton Market lease and facility agreement approved during March council meeting
The city officially approved the Renton Market lease and facility agreement at the March 23, 2026 City Council meeting. The operator, Logan Market, was selected and approved by the council in December 2021. The operator will manage daily operations, lease vendor spaces, and activate the Renton Market space while the city retains ownership of the building.
With the approved agreement, the operator can now begin recruiting anchor business tenants and vendors, moving us closer to opening a vibrant, year‑round gathering place.
The Renton Market will feature anchor tenant space, up to 12 kiosk vendor stalls for start‑ups and rotating businesses, and a classroom kitchen space for community programming. The operator will deliver a full calendar of public events, activities, and workshops open to the public throughout the year.
To support long‑term success, the agreement is designed for stability and growth. It includes a 10-year initial lease term, from April 1, 2026 – March 30, 2036, with two optional five-year extensions, pending City approval. The agreement features a step‑up rent structure, allowing the operator to invest while the market builds momentum while making tenant improvements. Rent starts at a reduced rate in the first two years and gradually increases by 3% annually after year six, as the market grows and aligns with fair market value.
To ensure we bring the vision for the Renton Market to life, the operator will track and report on foot traffic, vendor occupancy, customer feedback and revenue.
