The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will continue construction along southbound Interstate 405 through May 2026. Work will take place along southbound I-405 from Ripley Lane North to just north of Pleasure Point. The work will continue taking place during daytime and nighttime hours generally at:
WSDOT contractor crews will work both daytime and nighttime shifts to expedite the work. Crews will continue to build retaining walls, construct drainage, and complete grading and paving activities as part of the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project.
Nearby residents should expect significant construction impacts, including but not limited to noise typical of excavators, cranes, forklifts, grading equipment, and paving equipment.
Crews will use strategies to minimize noise and mitigate disruption to nearby properties, including avoiding banging truck tailgates and directing lights away from homes. Ear plugs and white noise machines will be provided upon request to further mitigate anticipated noise impacts.
