The City of Renton Emergency Management division is currently monitoring the atmospheric river event and potential impact to the Cedar River and surrounding low-lying areas. The Transportation Division is working on a project to resurface Oakesdale Ave. SW from SW 34th St. to SW 16th St. This initiative will involve the installation of bike lanes, updates to the channelization, and upgrades to intersection ramps to current ADA standards.
The current condition of the pavement and the amount of heavy traffic on this roadway warrants the need for preventative maintenance. This project is a major truck route on a key transit corridor. Resurfacing this roadway will improve the overall condition and longevity of the pavement.
