Concealed Pistol License

Only City of Renton residents may apply for a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) at the Renton Police Department.

Completed CPL application packets may be submitted in person Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fingerprint Services are available Thursdays 10 a.m. - 1:40 p.m. by appointment only. We are currently offering fingerprint services to CPL applicants only.

Do you live within the Renton City limits?

Not all locations with "Renton" in the mailing address are within Renton's jurisdiction.

For an Original Concealed Pistol License

To apply for an original concealed pistol license, please bring the following to your fingerprint appointment:

  1. A completed CPL application(PDF, 470KB)
  2. Valid photo identification
  3. Required fee - payment to be made at the first-floor finance counter 

Fee

  • $48 for original CPLs

Renewing Concealed Pistol Licenses

You may renew a Concealed Pistol License — or apply for a replacement CPL — in person Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Applicants must bring:

  1. A completed CPL application(PDF, 470KB)
  2. Valid photo identification
  3. Required fee - payment to be made at the first-floor finance counter
  4. Current CPL (if available.)

Fingerprints are not required for renewals, late renewals or replacement CPLs. 

Fees

  • Renewal: $32.00 (within 90 days before expiration)
  • Late renewal: $42.00 (within 90 days after expiration)
  • Replacement: $10.00
