Long Term Planning and Programming

Citywide Plans

The City of Renton works collectively to shape long-term plans and policies that guide growth, development, infrastructure, sustainability, and quality of life across the community. Each department contributes to an integrated vision for the city's future.

Comprehensive Plan

The Renton Comprehensive Plan is a long-term guide for the city's growth, outlining goals and policies for land use, housing, transportation, and sustainability to support a vibrant, sustainable community.

Rainier/Grady Junction TOD Subarea Plan

The Rainier/Grady Junction TOD Subarea Plan provides a vision and strategies to guide future growth and achieve a holistic, people-oriented neighborhood around Sound Transit's expanded bus rapid transit (BRT) line and transit center at the corner of Rainier Avenue S and S Grady Way.

Valley Subarea Plan

The city is preparing a Subarea Plan for the Valley to guide how this district will grow and change in the years ahead. The plan will build on the Valley’s history as a hub for industry and commerce while recognizing new opportunities for housing, healthcare, offices, recreation, and community spaces.
