Why Spay or Neuter

Whether you’ve just adopted a new pet or have had your companion for years, it’s never too late to make this responsible decision. Did you know kittens can get pregnant as early as four months and puppies can get pregnant as early as six months?

  • Pet Overpopulation: More than 6 million cats and dogs entered shelters in 2025 and only about 4 million found homes.
  • Community and Public Health: The more animals are spayed and neutered the fewer issues there are with behavioral issues, marking, roaming, fighting and disease transmission.
  • Pet Health: Spayed and neutered animals have less chance of experiencing reproductive infections, tumors, and cancers.
  • Financial Burden: Avoid the time, energy, and expense of caring for and finding homes for “oops” litters
