National Night Out

August 5 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer.

How does it work?

Our officers and other public safety professionals will join your community event, say hello, have conversations, provide resources, and bring some swag!

What is a neighborhood event?

A neighborhood event can range from a simple backyard cookout to a block party or association meeting. It's a great opportunity where neighbors can connect, mingle, and strengthen community bonds.

Backpack Drive: Consider collecting backpacks at your event to help provide youth in-need with backpacks for the upcoming school year.

Ready to host an event?

 Please Register your party here.

It is the goal to have teams visit every registered neighborhood event. However, depending on emergency calls for service that evening, they may not be able to guarantee the participation of a uniformed officer.

Grant Opportunity for Your National Night Out Party

The Neighborhood Program is offering grants to cover the cost of food for your National Night Out event. The neighborhood event funding is awarded to:

  • Recognized Renton Neighborhood: Your group must be based within the Renton city limits and serve a commonly recognized geographic neighborhood.
  • Resident Community Group: Your group should be a newly forming organization tied to a specific community area, with at least 10 volunteers required for recognition.

Apply now to bring your community together and celebrate National Night Out with the support of the Neighborhood Program!

**Registration Deadline: July 25, 2025, at 5 p.m.** Learn more about the Neighborhood Project Matching Grant.
