Due to high bacteria levels detected in the water, King County Public Health has advised residents to not enter the water, avoid contact with lake water, and to keep children away from the shoreline at Gene Coulon Beach Park until further notice.
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building event which is held on the first Tuesday of August in cities across the country. The City of Renton and Renton Police Department are leading this event on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The event is designed to raise awareness about police programs such as the Neighborhood Watch Program and other crime prevention and safety initiatives.
Community members host an event where neighbors can connect, mingle, and strengthen community bonds. They'll send police personnel and other public safety professionals to visit your party – say hello, have conversations, provide resources, and bring some swag!
Neighborhood events can range from simple backyard cookouts to block parties – it's up to you! Backpack Drive: Consider collecting backpacks at your event to help provide youth in-need with backpacks for the upcoming school year. Ready to host an event?
