Become Renton Police Department volunteer

As a volunteer, you’ll help enhance the services we provide to our community. You’ll serve as a trusted partner in public safety, representing both the Renton Police Department and the City of Renton. Your time and commitment will make a meaningful difference.

Since 1981, volunteers have played a vital role in supporting the Renton Police Department, beginning with vacation house checks - a key crime prevention initiative. In 1985, the department formally launched its volunteer program to better integrate community members into daily operations. Today, more than 20 dedicated community members volunteer across nearly every division of the department.
