Red Ribbon Week Classroom Poster Contest
Inspire Students Celebrate Creativity. Promote Healthy Choices
The Renton Police Department invites all 3rd–5th grade classrooms to participate in our Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest, a fun and engaging way for students to showcase their creativity while learning about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
Winning classrooms will receive a special celebration with Renton Police Officers, an unforgettable experience for your students!
Plus, your school can also enter the National Red Ribbon Week Photo Contest for a chance to win an iPad and $1,000 for your school.
How to Participate
Step 1: Register for Poster Contest
Register your class today!
Registration closes October 10, 2025
*Open to any 3rd, 4th or 5th grade classroom within the Renton School District or within Renton City Limits.
Step 2 (Optional): Enter the National Photo Contest

Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free
Poster Guidelines
Theme: “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free.”
Size: Standard poster board (22" x 28")
Teamwork: Students must collaborate as a class to design and create one poster
Submission: Email a photo of your poster to shynes@rentonwa.gov by November 3, 2025
Judging Criteria
Theme Incorporation: Poster must include the official theme
Creativity & Quality: Originality, neatness, and creativity will be considered
Community Voting: Posters will be shared on Renton PD’s social media for community voting
Winners: One winner per grade (3rd, 4th, 5th)
Winners & Prizes
Teachers notified by November 25
Winning Classes: Classroom celebration with Renton PD officers
All Participants: Every student will receive a Red Ribbon Week ribbon and sticker
