Domestic Violence Victim Advocate

Domestic violence is not just physical violence. It is a pattern of controlling, abusive behavior - emotional, sexual, or physical - but a pattern that can be prevented and stopped. It can happen to anyone.

The Renton Police Department has a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate to provide assistance to victims who live within Renton's city limits.

The advocate can provide the victim(s) with:

  • Safety planning and problem solving
  • Domestic violence prevention and education
  • Protection orders - King County Protection Order Advocacy: 206-477-3758
  • Understanding of legal system
  • Limited transportation
  • Interpreter services
  • Referrals to community-based programs.

The Domestic Violence Victim Advocate is available Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at 206-715-7324 or by email, by appointment only.

Silent Witness Project

As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Renton City Hall lobby displays silhouettes and stories of individuals who were victims of domestic violence.

The Silent Witness program is a reminder that these victims are our daughters, sons, moms, dads, relatives, and close friends. If you find yourself in an abusive relationship, get help immediately by calling 9-1-1 or Hopeline at 206-737-0242.
