Streets

The Streets Maintenance Division provides safe, clean city streets and right of ways to Renton residents, while maintaining these properties in the most cost-effective ways possible. This section maintains all public streets and right of ways, while also assisting abutting property owners with sidewalk, curb and gutter repairs.

As of 2024, the city has 319 center line miles and 753 lane miles of streets and right of ways. This division is responsible for sweeping and cleaning the city streets and right-of-ways, along with overseeing street overlay projects and pothole repairs. This division also responds to emergencies such as snow and ice control, mudslides, windstorms, flooding, accident clean-up and major traffic control.
