2025 Community Survey results are in!
Published on January 30, 2026
Every two to four years, the City of Renton conducts a comprehensive community survey to gather valuable resident feedback. This input helps city leaders understand the community’s experience with city services and guides decision-making for future projects and programs.
The 2025 Community Survey opened in May and concluded in June 2025. Results are now available on the city’s website.
Thank you to all residents who took the time to participate. Your feedback is truly appreciated and essential to the city’s continuous improvement efforts.

The process
Conducting a survey of this scale requires a carefully designed methodology to ensure accurate, representative feedback from across the community.
The survey was offered in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Ukrainian, Renton’s six most commonly spoken languages. It was distributed through multiple channels, including mail, email, text messages, and phone calls, to a randomly selected sample of 16,000 Renton households.
In addition, the survey was promoted via the city’s newsletter, website, and in-person outreach at the Renton Farmers Market, neighborhood picnics, and other community events.

The results
A total of 659 surveys were completed. This is consistent with previous years’ response rates and aligned with industry standards for cities of similar size.
These results help the city:
- Evaluate our performance
- Inform our performance-based budgeting process
- Understand the priorities of our residents and businesses and establish the city’s priorities
Like many cities regionally and nationwide, Renton is facing new challenges that require innovative solutions. Key areas such as crime and public safety, transportation and mobility, affordable housing, and mental health and homelessness support have been identified by residents and the city as top priorities. Continued improvement in these vital areas is essential, and the city remains committed to addressing them effectively.
Despite these challenges, Renton residents consistently express pride and satisfacti
on in their community. Both the 2023 and 2025 surveys highlight one of the city’s greatest strengths: the outstanding ratings residents give to city employees for their dedication and service.
