Blog: The last TWIR: Introducing ‘This Month in Renton’!

Published on November 07, 2025

News graphic introducing This Month in Renton

Starting this month, the City of Renton will introduce a new way to deliver news that matters to our residents.

We’ll say goodbye to the city’s weekly e-newsletter, ‘This Week in Renton,’ which we delivered via email.

Instead, we’ll be posting news as it happens to the city’s website. Current ‘This Week in Renton’ subscribers will be transitioned to receive news in their chosen interest areas as it happens – meaning readers can access stories on  rentonwa.gov in a more current way.

The first week of each month, all subscribers will receive ‘This Month in Renton,’ an e-newsletter recapping the biggest news stories from the past month, along with an article from the Mayor’s Office taking an in-depth look behind the scenes into the city’s philosophy and action on large-scale initiatives.

Why the change?

  • Residents deserve access to news as-it-happens.
  • Non-subscribers can now find articles via Google or on rentonwa.gov.
  • Less emails, but more information – catch up once a month on big stories, or get exact updates as they happen.
  • Looking for past news? Find all past stories easily in one place – on rentonwa.gov.
  • More news from the Mayor’s Office, showcasing movement on city priorities.

How to get news

Readers have choices on how they receive news:

We want to deliver news in the ways that are best for our residents. If you have feedback, please reach out to communications@rentonwa.gov.
