Chalk Art Competition 2025 at Renton River Days

RENTON, WA ­(JUNE 23, 2025) – As part of the city’s annual Renton River Days festival, the Renton Municipal Arts Commission is excited to announce the annual Chalk Art Competition, a free community event. The competition will take place on Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., transforming Cedar River Park Drive (between Houser Way and the Renton Community Center) into a lively outdoor art gallery.

This year’s theme is “Summer Vibes”. This theme invites artists of all ages and experience levels to celebrate the sunshine and creativity that defines summer in Renton. Registered participants will receive chalk and a designated sidewalk space to bring their works of art to life.

Throughout the day, attendees can vote for the People’s Choice Award. Live music from Emerald Dynasty Entertainment’s DJ will keep the energy high and creativity flowing from start to finish.

At 4 p.m. the winners will be announced. Cash prizes sponsored by Allied Arts of Renton will be provided to the first, second, and third place winners based on community votes:

  • $1,000 for First Place
  • $500 for Second Place
  • $300 for Third Place 

Early registration is encouraged to secure a spot. Registration closes on July 16.
