Senior Public Safety Miniseries – Session 3: Drones, Dive Teams, and Water Rescue
Wednesday, April 8 | 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center (211 Burnett Ave. N.)
Police and fire often have special skills in order to keep up with the demands of public safety. Join us for a special presentation by police regarding the use of drones and how it assists with operations and investigations. Participants will also learn about the specialized training and equipment used by fire for underwater search and rescue missions.

The Senior Public Safety Miniseries is five sessions long and open to ages 50 and up. The miniseries is a spin-off of the popular Senior Police & Fire Community Academy, offering the same great content with added flexibility.

7th Annual Dragon’s Landing Celebration
Sunday, April 12 | 10 - 5 p.m.
Downtown Renton (Wells Ave. S. between 2nd & 3rd)
Enjoy captivating performances, creative crafts, and fun for all ages as we come together to celebrate our rooftop dragon! Find maps, schedules, and lost and found at the Village Gate located at Wells Ave & 3rd Street. (Check out our live event map beforehand to prepare as well!)
Leading up to the event, there are several activities to get involved in:
- Dragon Egg Scavenger Hunt: Starting April 10, follow the clues, find hidden dragon eggs throughout the city, and log your discoveries for a chance to win amazing dragon treasure! Sign up for treasure hunt updates here.
- Business Window Decorating Contest: See magic throughout downtown Renton! Businesses will compete in a Dragon’s Landing Window Decorating Contest. All participating windows will be featured on a special tour on VisitRenton.com and the Visit Renton app.
- Costume Contest: Come dressed in your most imaginative, dragon-inspired, or fantasy-themed attire for a chance to win! Show off your creativity, craftsmanship, and flair on the main stage and be part of the day’s magical festivities. Day-of registration will be available at the Info Tent.

Volunteers needed! Arbor Day - Storm Drain Marking Volunteer Project
Saturday, April 25 | 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Thomas Teasdale Park (601 S. 23rd St.)
Volunteer at the City of Renton Arbor Day Public Works Storm Drain Marking Project! We'll celebrate Arbor Day starting at Thomas Teasdale Park and then walk to the neighborhoods to install storm drain markers and distribute educational materials.
Registration is required at rentonwa.gov/volunteer. Ages 16+.
