The city is creating a Safety Action Plan to guide our investments in street safety. The plan will use data, community insight, and proven strategies to make it safer and easier for everyone to get around–and that means walking, rolling, biking, taking transit, or driving.
Renton residents know local streets best. Your experiences reflect real community needs and help create solutions that work. Here's how to get involved:
The plan uses the Safe System Approach, which recognizes everyone is vulnerable in traffic and that mistakes happen.
In our city, this means designing streets to manage vehicle speeds, increase intersection visibility, and make crosswalks near schools, transit stops, and commercial areas safer.
