Join the City of Renton and the Renton Historical Society for Birthday in the Park, a community celebration at Liberty Park, hosted by the City of Renton's Parks and Recreation Department.
Featuring exhibits from the Renton Historical Society, games, live music, and activities for all ages, gather with friends and neighbors, and, of course, celebrate with birthday cake!
Visit our video booth to record your memories of Renton's history. This event is just the beginning of celebrations throughout our 125th year.

September 9 - Less Work, Better Gardens the Natural Way (VIRTUAL)
Ages 18+. Become a more successful gardener and do it with less work! Discover how to create a more beautiful garden by working with Mother Nature. Learn about natural yard care topics such as how to build healthy soils and water your garden the right amount. Instructor: Ladd Smith. VIRTUAL.
September 29 – Four Seasons of Color: the Year-Round Garden (VIRTUAL)
Ages 18+. Learn design and planting tips to make your landscape attractive all year long – even in the fall! You will learn secrets for less maintenance and more color including using garden art and structures, with garden inspiration from around the world. Instructor: Marianne Binetti.

Recycling Event: Styrofoam, Plastic Bags, & Document Shred Collection
Saturday, September 12 | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Renton Technical College (3000 NE 4th St.)
Attend the FREE special recycling event hosted by the city's Sustainability and Solid Waste team. Staff will be accepting Styrofoam, plastic bags, and documents for shredding.
Be sure to secure your load before heading out and check whether your item can be accepted at rentonwa.gov/RecycleEvents.

2026 Pooch Plunge
Saturday-Sunday, September 12-13 | 10 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Henry Moses Aquatic Center (1719 Maple Valley Highway)
Bring your dog to the Henry Moses Aquatic Center for the end of summer Pooch Plunge! Rain or shine, dogs will make a splash while taking a dip in the pool. Pet food donations will be accepted during all sessions and will be delivered to a local animal shelter after the event!
Registration is required at rentonwa.gov/Register. Sessions are 45 minutes.
Startup425 Coworking: Jumpstart Small Business Saturday

Browse hundreds of gently used costumes, accessories, and Halloween treasures for all ages—from babies to adults. Whether you're creating a brand-new look or adding the finishing touches to this year's costume, you're sure to discover something fun. Be sure to bring a reusable bag, and don't miss our festive photo booth where you can show off your new look!
No donation is required to participate, but early costume donations help make the event a success and ensure there's something for everyone.
