Water quality has improved and bacteria levels are now considered low risk, allowing the beach to reopen. While low bacteria counts do not guarantee complete safety, current conditions meet public health guidance for reopening. Graphic representations of the Taxiway Alpha Rehab project — Phase 1 - 2026:
The contractor is mobilizing their equipment and materials into the designated staging areas.
Special consideration will be made to tenants who will be affected by the work area directly between their operation and the closed taxiway. 800 and 820 aprons will be made available to tenants impacted by this project. Please contact the airport for assistance.
Taxiway Alpha is the major parallel taxiway that supports all GA aircraft operations and Boeing 737s towed between the B ramp and C ramp on the west side of the field.
The existing pavement is showing stress, cracking, and rutting. This project includes a major reconstruction of the entirety of the taxiway and will include an LED lighting upgrade, infield drainage improvements, and painting.
This is the second phase of the 2013-2014 Seaplane Base Dredging & Shoreline Mitigation project. It will add rip-rap along the runway end edge adjacent to the seaplane launch ramp to prevent continued erosion of the shoreline.
