During Monday's city council meeting, Mayor Armondo Pavone designated July, as Parks and Recreation Month in Renton. Recreation Director Jennifer Spencer accepted the proclamation. Spencer was joined by Golf Course Manager Steve Meyers, Head Professional Kirk Gleason, and players from the Junior PGA Golf League.
Spener shared, “Parks and Recreation is the heart of our community. Every day, our team is driven by one purpose. It’s serving our community through places, experiences, and bringing people together.”
Meyers and Gleason highlighted Maplewood Golf Course, the city’s municipal golf course, and the success of getting more kids involved in the game of golf through the PGA Junior League.
