NE Sunset Blvd. Sewer Maintenance

The Public Works Department is performing sewer maintenance along NE Sunset Blvd. (from NE 7th St to Duvall Ave NE) from April 14 through June.

Monroe Ave NE Storm System Improvement

The Monroe Ave NE Storm Improvement project will construct stormwater quality treatment and infiltration facilities at 301 Monroe Ave NE to serve a 245-acre sub basin located in the Renton Highlands and President Park neighborhoods to replace a deficient and low-capacity infiltration pipe along NE 2nd Street.

HAWK signals stand for High-Intensity Activated CrossWalk (HAWK). These beacon signals are tools to help make it easier and safer for people to cross busy streets without impeding traffic.

Burnett & Williams Ave S Water Quality Retrofit

The Burnett Ave. S. and Williams Ave. S. Water Quality Retrofit Project will construct stormwater quality treatment facilities in Williams Ave. S. and S. Tobin St. to treat runoff from over 12 acres of land in downtown Renton before discharging to the Cedar River.

Mosquito Abatement Program

Each year, the Surface Water Utility contracts with a state licensed pesticide applicator to treat the upland area located between the Talbot Hill neighborhood and the Panther Creek Wetlands.

Highlands Reservoir Improvement Project

To build additional water storage on the existing 435 Zone Highlands Reservoir to meet future demands from expected growth prior to buildout demands in 2071.

Windsor Hills Utility Project

As part of the 2019 Update of the Water System Plan, the Water Utility has identified the need to replace the water mains in the Windsor Hills neighborhood to increase fire flow capacity and improve water quality. The existing water mains were installed in 1942 and consist of 4-inch and 6-inch unlined cast iron pipes that have reached the end of their expected useful life.
