Legacy Square

Legacy Square is a visionary project designed to create an inclusive arts and culture hub that will be a lasting amenity providing entertainment, activations, and opportunities for our residents, businesses, community, and visitors for many years to come in Renton's downtown area. This summer, it will harness the excitement of the World Cup 2026, coming to Seattle for its initial launch.

The space will serve as a vibrant location for watch parties, the arts, play, events, and more. This initiative strives to ensure accessibility for all, regardless of financial constraints, demographics, or backgrounds. Thank you RAVE Foundation for their partnership and contribution of the soccer mini pitch.

We are looking forward for the community to leave their LEGACY.

Why are we doing this?

Every event at Legacy Square is designed to create movement and community connectedness. We want to:

- Attract visitors to Renton
- Create excitement and opportunities to encourage people to stay, explore, eat, and shop
- Put a spotlight on our small businesses during the high-traffic summer season
- Explore the possibilities of what Legacy Square can offer our community

Submit your events to the community calendar

Interested in vending at Legacy Square events?

Local businesses can submit a Show of Interest to vend during Legacy Square summer programming (June 6–September 19), including watch parties, movie nights, concerts, and festivals. Food and merchandise vendors welcome.

Selection will be based on event fit, product quality, local presence (preference for Renton businesses), and outdoor vending experience. Vendor fees and City requirements may apply.

Legacy Square Activation Calendar

Experience the excitement of the 2026 World Cup in the heart of downtown Renton at Legacy Square. This vibrant public space is perfect for fans to gather, and cheer on their teams. Residents and businesses can expect watch parties, movies, live music, family-friendly activities, and more.

Legacy Square Construction

Legacy Square construction began June 2025. The project is broken into three phases. Legacy Square will include a futsal court, grassed gathering area, large video screen and stage, play structure, art displays, space for food trucks and small business opportunities. The Square will open in June 2026.

Other downtown projects

The plans for Piazza Park, the Renton Pavilion & Events Center, and Legacy Square are several components of the HEART Block, a key feature of the Renton Downtown Civic Core and Action Plan that supports the growth and development of public spaces in the downtown area.
