Renton's vibrant arts and creative sector plays a key role in enhancing our economic vitality, quality of life, and appeal to businesses and talent. We support the arts through grants, technical assistance, and a dynamic public arts program, fostering a rich cultural environment for our community. 

The city works closely with the Renton Municipal Arts Commission (RMAC) and other non-profit art groups to dispense the city's arts funding budget. Take a stroll and explore the colorful and magnificent outdoor art hidden within plain view of Renton's urban, yet small-town landscape. You may find it in some very surprising places.

Downtown Streetscapes

The city started improving the streets and sidewalks of downtown blocks in 2017 in conjunction with several key initiatives. These public rights-of-way improvements, collectively known as “streetscapes,” help improve the appearance and safety of sidewalk and street areas and provide a more vibrant pedestrian experience.

Paint with Purpose

Paint with Purpose initiative is a community-driven program designed to reduce graffiti and enhance public spaces by transforming them into vibrant works of art. By engaging property owners, businesses, and local artists, this initiative fosters community collaboration while beautifying the city.
